Leveraging the Informational Interview: A Key Networking Tool
March 9, 2016 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pmFree
Integral to the consulting recruitment process is the informational interview: informal conversations with current consultants about their firm, their daily lives, their choice of career path, and suggestions on preparing for the application process. In this second educational workshop of the Consulting Club at the Texas Medical Center, we will share useful tips on identifying the right people to talk to, perfecting the art of requesting an interview, asking the right questions, and following up to build your network.
Some topics covered will include:
- How informational interviews can get you one step closer to landing an interview for consulting positions
- Using friends, family, and LinkedIn to identify potential interviewees
- Crafting the perfect email for initial contact
- What types of questions to ask consultants during the interview
- Following up to expand your professional network
This event is free for Training Members only, and a $10 single-attendance fee for Basic Members. Basic Members may pay in advance via PayPal or at the door by cash, credit, or debit.
