By accessing and using the services of the Consulting Club at the Texas Medical Center (CCTMC), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of this Agreement. In addition, when using the services offered to Basic Members or Training Members, or found on this website, you will be subject to any posted guidelines or rules applicable to such services. Any participation in these services will constitute acceptance of this Agreement. If you do not agree to abide by this Agreement, please do not use these services.
What Personal Information We Collect
We only collect your personal information online when you voluntarily provide it to us by joining as a Basic Member or Training Member. If you choose to join the CCTMC as a member, we ask you to provide limited personal information such as your name, email address, designation, and institutional or corporate affiliation. As a Training Member, if you choose to apply to the Greater Houston Consulting Case Competition via the CCTMC website, we ask you to additionally provide your resume and answer essay questions for the selection process. Basic or Training Members may change or update their personal information at any time by sending a request to email@example.com.
We may use your personal information within the CCTMC: (1) to provide you with the services and resources you request; (2) to answer questions about our services, billing, payment methods or use of our website; (3) to process or collect payments for our services; (4) to conduct anonymous member surveys; and (5) to contact you about the services and resources that we offer.
Disclosure of Personal Information to Third Parties
We will never disclose any personal information to any third party, unless: (1) you have authorized us to do so; (2) we are legally required to do so, for example, in response to a subpoena, court order or other legal process and/or, (3) it is necessary to protect our property rights related to this website. We also may share aggregate, anonymous information about website usage and membership distribution with unaffiliated third parties. This aggregate information does not contain any personal information.
How We Protect Your Personal Information
We exercise great care to protect your personal information. This includes, among other things, using industry standard techniques such as firewalls, encryption, and intrusion detection. As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us or receive from us. This is especially true for information you transmit to us via email since we have no way of protecting that information until it reaches us since email does not have the security features that are built into our website.
In addition, we restrict officers of the Executive Team of the CCTMC access to personal information. Only those officers with a business reason to know have access to this information. We educate our officers about the importance of maintaining confidentiality of the personal information of our members.
Guarantees and Indemnification
By joining the CCTMC as a Basic or Training Member, we will do our absolute best to educate you about the consulting career track and train you to become a competitive applicant for consulting positions. However, we do not guarantee: (1) selection for a consulting summer workshop interview; (2) acceptance into a consulting summer workshop; (3) invitation to interview for an internship or a full-time position at a consulting firm; (4) successful completion of any part of the internship or full-time position interview process at a consulting firm; (5) being extended an offer of employment for an internship or full-time position from a consulting firm.
The services and resources provided by the CCTMC are offered for educational purposes only. We will not be responsible or liable for the accuracy, usefulness or availability of any information transmitted or made available via the website, and will not be responsible or liable for any error or omissions in that information. The content of this website and services provided to Basic and Training Members are provided “as is” without warranty of any kind.
To join the CCTMC as a Training Member, a payment of $30.00 can be made through our website via PayPal, which includes an option to pay by credit card or debit card. We also accept payment by cash, check, or credit card in-person at select club events. These in-person transactions are always conducted by an officer of the Executive Team of the CCTMC.
Basic Members or eligible non-members may join the CCTMC as a Training Member at any time during the year by submitting the $30.00 fee. Any single-attendance payment ($10.00) submitted by Basic Members for attending paid workshops made prior to upgrading to Training Member are not applicable to Training Membership fees and are non-refundable. Training Membership expires on December 31 of the year enrolled and is eligible for renewal on January 1 of the following year by paying the dues set for the next year. We do not accept refunds for any transactions conducted on the website or in-person.
Access to Club Resources
Training Members, but not Basic Members, are granted access to the full library of club resources and services: (1) case interview preparation books; (2) publicly available business-school mock casebooks; (3) discussion forums on the website; (4) videos and slides of past Training Member workshops on the website; (5) weekly case practice sessions. Due to the limited number of case preparation books available, the CCTMC lends these resources to Training Members for a two week rental period on a first-come first-serve basis.
You may not give digital or printed copies of the resources provided by the CCTMC or found on this website to others, convert the resource into a different medium and give it to others or make the resources available for other to copy or download. You may not publicly broadcast or make public access to any audio or video components of these resources. The unauthorized use or distribution of copyrighted or other proprietary content is illegal and could subject the purchaser to substantial money damages.
Training Members given access to any club resource are responsible for the safekeeping of that resource. Loss or damage of any resource will require the complete replacement of that resource by that Basic or Training Member, or full payment for that resource to the CCTMC.
Links to Other Web Sites
Our website may contain links to third party web sites or services that are not owned or controlled by the CCTMC. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third party web sites or services. You further acknowledge and agree that the CCTMC will not be responsible or liable, directly or indirectly, for any damage or loss caused or alleged to be caused by or in connection with use of or reliance on any such content, goods or services available on or through any such websites or services.
Notification of Changes
Termination of Service
Sharing of Accounts or Resources
Members are prohibited from sharing login credentials or members-only resources (including but not limited to workshop materials, videos, slide decks, forum information, and any other proprietary materials provided to Training Members). Anyone found in violation of this policy will have their membership immediately terminated, and the club may seek monetary restitution to the value of the services shared (which exceeds the individual value of the membership). We also reserve the right to inform our consulting network of any ethical violations of former members.
Misuse of the resources may result in the termination of your Basic Membership, Training Membership or access to the website, without cause or notice, and may result in the forfeiture and destruction of all information associated with your account. All provisions of this Agreement that, by their nature, should survive termination shall survive termination, including, without limitation, ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability.
