Weekly Case Practices
Update: weekly case practices officially ended September 30th, 2017. We will resume next Spring. If you are looking to practice during the off-cycle, feel free to send email to firstname.lastname@example.org and we will do our best to match you with those of similar interest.
In order to best prepare our members for handling case interviews, we conduct weekly case practice sessions where members can work on cases with each other. Weekly case practice officially starts this Thursday, 5/18/2017. Weekly practice sessions are held every Monday, 5:30 – 8:00 pm at South Campus Research Building 4 (1st floor cubicles) and Thursday, 5:30 – 8:00 PM, at BioScience Research Collaborative(BRC) (6500 Main St, Houston, TX 77030; 2nd floor cafeteria; parking instruction is presented below). There is free-access to BRC before 6 pm, but after that, you may have to go through a security checkpoint. Alternatively, you can enter through the stairs outside leading directly to the 2nd floor cafeteria where the practices are.
Practicing live cases with partners is invaluable in improving and refining your performance on each component of the case interview. These sessions provide an opportunity for getting a feel of solving cases in a real-life setting, offering elements of the case interview that cannot be fully recapitulated by solitary practice alone.
For each session that you plan to attend, we ask that you review and prepare 1-2 cases to administer to another club member. Cases can be found online in the business school casebooks on our website, case interview prep books, and in other public online resources.
These practice sessions are free for both Training Members and Basic Members. However, if you are a Basic Member and are seriously considering the management consulting career track, now is the time to upgrade to a Training Membership. Most importantly in this context, a Training Membership will grant access to business school casebooks hosted on our website, as well as free case interview prep book rentals.
If you have any further questions about these events, please contact us at email@example.com.
